MODE Designer Spotlight: Staci Woo
![]() There is no doubt about it that Staci Woo has way with designing irresistible sweaters and tops. Her soft designs and stunning colors make her collections marvelous! She combines the best fabrics to make her pieces extra soft and comfortable! Her silhouettes are delicate and feminine. Flowing collars, oversized buttons and extra long sleeves make her styles stand out this fall! This native Northern California gal moved south after studying art at the University of California, Santa Barbara. While in school, Staci worked at a local swimwear company and made her splash into the fashion industry. However, her real break came in 1995, as assistant designer to Adriano Goldschmied for A. Gold E. While toiling for Adriano, Staci began crafting on her own. She whipped up sling bags for personal use that soon became coveted possessions of friends and family. One became two, two three, and thus, in 1997 Woo was born. . By 2002, Woo had collected a smart following based on simple yet innovative uses of recycled cashmeres, kimonos and vintage aloha prints. From what began as a bag and intimates collection has now expanded into luxuriously casual tops, jackets, dresses, underwoo, little woo and woo mamma pieces made of whisper soft supima cottons and rich tencels knits mixed with lace trim and inspiring prints .
